Danese Milano Sette il Leone silk-screen printe
Four-colour Sette, il Leone silk-screen printed on 200g m2 dropjet paper belonging to the “nature series”. This work of art wants to represent all the innocence and symbolism that distinguishes the fox, enhancing its purity and simplicity. Printed on dropjet paper closed on the horizontal sides by two plastic profiles that allow it to be hung, Sette, il Leone finds its place in the children’s room, in a kitchen, in an office. Designed by Enzo Mari for Danese Milano.
The numbered serigraphs of the Nature Series, obtained by Enzo Mari and produced by Danese, propose subjects of nature respecting the innate idea that one has by evoking them. From iconographic research, Mari has developed in the 60's he developed a series of three characters, belonging to the Game of Fables. The animals in question are the lamb, the fox, the lion and geese, represented simply, but enhancing their meaning and iconographic value. The subjects are therefore deliberately reproduced in their original form, like a model, eliminating the superfluous and giving importance to the communicative function. Enzo Mari's choice of eliminating the superfluous in favour of meaning is to be found in the author's intention of wanting to identify the observer with the work as much as possible, to create an emotional and representative connection. The result is an elementary image of animals, with a full form, with the colours of the same dominating against a white background. The subjects thus become icons, aimed at transmitting deep emotions and meanings.
