Designed by Bruno Munari in 1964 for Danese Milano.
Falkland lamp, also known as the "stocking lamp", is one of the masterpieces designed by Bruno Munari for the Danese Milano brand. The lamp is composed of a tubular elastic mesh, product of a hosiery, which takes shape thanks to the insertion of some metal rings of different diameters, placed between them at predetermined distances. Exhibited at the MoMA in New York, it is a real relic of Italian industrial design and is the spearhead of the Danese Milano brand. Bruno Munari for the realization of the Falkland lamp was inspired by the style of Japanese culture, towards which he felt a great affinity. Making several trips to Japan in the sixties, Munari learned a lot from the "Zen" style and decided to personally interpret this iconic Japanese tradition. It was in those same years that the Danish company turned to Munari for the design of the lamp: the right meeting at the right time! Falkland is also available in a suspension version; don't miss this design masterpiece! Discover the other fantastic Danese Milano products here, on Newpop.it!
